So many things came up this week about writing a book. (Remember this is one of the best ways to establish yourself as an expert in your field.) Need some support and encouragement?

1. NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo starts soon. (November is National Novel Writing Month.) NaNoWriMo is a nation-wide challenge to write 50,000 words in one month. That breaks down to 1667 words per day, about two pages of single-spaced typing. It can be done, and is not as hard as it sounds. Gather with fellow writers at local coffee shops when you need a little extra support. Local events are scheduled in most areas. NOTE: You can even sign up after Nov 1!

2. Sasha Allenby

Check out this website, and in fact, Sasha Allenby’s blog post yesterday, which focused on how to include your own transformation story in your book. Sasha offers a free 21-day e-course to support your process as a new or developing author, and an inspiring book layout service. Notice the beautiful layout of her own new book. Gorgeous! (I want that!)

3. Andy Couturier’s Book Completion Group

Andy Couturier offers a local Santa Cruz workshop which focuses on helping you complete your writing project. The class offers focused, individual coaching, the support of a group, and precise, useful feedback on your work. Get help with overall organization, working wisely with your inner critic, revising strategies, time management, a sense of overwhelm, or even on just how to get started.

4. Weekly Writing Group

Need a “workout Buddy?” Set time aside each week to focus on your writing project. Join us on Fridays from 10am to 12pm at the Center for Source Healing. We are committed to writing our books, and write individually, each working on our own projects in this beautiful space. See the schedule at VibrantExpression.net

Happy Writing!
